What Matters Most Pt. 2

Our world is rapidly changing and we are living in crazy times. We have recently witnessed some crazy things in the world and in this nation. We are coming upon a new election, mass shootings and violence is increasing, persecution of the saints in growing, and it seems that we are living in the last days.

As I go through this season my eyes are being removed from myself to what’s going on in the world and around me. Saints we must not lose sight on what’s really important and what matters most to God. In the age of social media it’s easy to get caught up in the trends of the world that we forget and lose sight of what matters most.

When you accept Jesus Christ in your life as your Lord and Savior you receive the gift of salvation. When you leave this earth, whenever it may be, you will join our Lord in heaven for eternity. Eterninty. Do we even think about what eternity means?! No ending, ever going. How awesome is God to bless us with a life after this one, and for Jesus to be preparing a home for us when we get there.

Yet, as good as this is, there are still more souls, more people lost and in need of salvation. Just like when the world ends no one knows when their day may come, and there are people around us who could use the news of God’s love for them and the availibilty of salvation through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If not with our lips, our lives should be a reflection of God’s love and miraculous power.

Despite how you may feel about someone, or the lives they are living, that someone is of value in God’s eyes. God wants His creation reconciled back to Him to become His children, to share in His love and healing, and to join Him one day in heaven. Sometimes we get so caught up in how we feel that we forget about what matters most.

Even more important, we should be asking ourselves are we living lives reflecting a life truly given to Christ. We will make mistakes and fall along in our journey while Jesus continues His good work in us, but our goal, through the help of the Holy Spirit, is to be living a fruitful life in Christ Jesus. Unfortunately some will be caught off guard on the day they stand before Jesus.

22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:22-23

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be one of those people, instead I want to hear:

21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25:21

This is not a message of condemnation or fire and brimstone. Instead I share this with you in love and truth. There is a reality of heaven and hell. Hell was not created for us, instead it was meant for satan and his fallen angels.

I think Rick Warren said it best

“The most important decision you make in this life is not who you will marry, nor the career you will choose, or where you will go to school but instead it’s where you will spend eternity.

That was a paraphrase, but hopefully you get the gist. God loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for your sins. Jesus paid the penalty. He did the work and the only thing you have to do is, what some call the ABC’s of salvation. Admit you are a sinner in need of forgiveness, Believe with you heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and accept His as the Lord and Savior of your life. Ask Him to live in your heart.

Even more awesome Jesus knew we would need help in our journey so He sent His Holy Spirit to live inside of us, and you can receive Him when you give your life to Christ.

Like you I am on this journey always learning and growing and being developed.

“12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV

Below I have pasted a salvation prayer from salvationprayer.info

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. AMEN.

If you said this prayer congratulations you are now apart of God’s family! Now your goal is to find a good church home and  get a personal Bible so that you may continue on your journey. The old you and life has passed, you no longer have to live in condemnation! You are free! If you have any questions feel free to email me at hisroyalheiress@gmail.com

Also a good book to consider reading on your new journey is Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. He has a revised edition, it’s a good investment!

God Bless!

When God Doesn’t Move When You Want Him To

It’s been a while, much has changed, and yet some things are still the same. I am still in a wilderness season or a season of process, which has been challenging and rewarding. As the pressure has been turned up a little I’ve come to a place of realizing the need to be still. Sounds simple right? Well for me it wasn’t. I’ve had people that I thought would never turn on me, well, to turn on me. Loved ones who simply couldn’t or wouldn’t be there and now I am finally getting to a place of realization that I haven’t come as far in areas that I thought I had. How humbling right? Sometimes it takes God getting you completely alone to see the things you wouldn’t see when the distractions are around. I have now learned and still am learning to solely rely and trust in Him. I’ve learned that only God can fill the voids that I’ve been looking to fill for years. I’ve come face to face with my hurts and fears and although it’s been painful by Gods grace I am still here.

Many people in the Bible knew what it felt like to be alone or to feel God has grown silent or left them. Yet the process they were going through would be an opportunity to strengthen and prepare them for the plans and purposes God has for them. Many times I prayed for God to move things on my behalf and it appeared He was silent. So the human thing to do is to try to move and figure out things on your own, which ultimately leads you back to where you started or with more mess on your hands. As hard as it may be, the thing with God is that He will only allow things such as; tests, trials, betrayal, heartbreak, attacks etc. only to be used for our good. God would never allow us to go through anything that He can’t use for His glory and nothing that we could not bear on our own.

When God doesn’t move when you want Him to its not always Him dealing with you for something. Sometimes He uses those situations to strengthen us, mature us, and develop us. He allows it for you because He has equipped you with a unique personality, gifts, talents, background that will allow you to use your experiences to reach people that only your unique self (story, experience, personality) could reach. God has promised to never leave us or forsake us, and He doesn’t allow us to go through any temptation or trial that we can’t bare. When He doesn’t move or do what you want, remember; He is still God, He is still in control, He still loves you, He still has a plan. In this time it is important to be the student and get the lessons God wants you to get in this season.

I don’t know what any of you are going through and can’t even say I may even know what it’s like to go through your unique experience,  however, we have our own unique stories and experiences that God can and will use for good. There is someone out there that can use your testimony to help them through their trial. God wouldn’t allow it if He couldn’t use it. Through Jesus you are an overcomer. When God isn’t moving, instead of begging Him to remove the thorn ask Him what you need to get out of this season so He can use that thorn to bless not only you but others.

God Bless! Love you and praying for you brothers and sisters!

What Really Matters Pt 1: The Church in America

Note: Please keep in mind that this post was written in love and concern and not meant to be a harsh critique of the Church in America. I would love to see that we as the Body of Christ grow together and do as our Lord commands by spreading the Gospel of Christ to our nation and the world. This is just one post among a series of a topics of What Really Matters ( I would like to discuss solutions or ideas of how we can bridge gaps in the Body of Christ in my next post. Also, I plan to make a video to accompany some of my posts for those who prefer not to read long posts, but to those who do thank you for your time)

(Review 1 Corinthians 12:12-29)

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.- 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)

“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them,”Matthew 18:20 (NLT)

Some time back a friend of mine and her husband introduced me to several video series; Finger of God, Furious Love, & Father of Lights. In these series you witness the mighty move of God not often seen in church’s today, and how in tune people are with the Holy Spirit and are on fire for God and His Kingdom. I began to wonder why didn’t we see this same passion and move of God in America, as we see with our brothers and sisters in Christ overseas (with the exception of a few church’s in America)?

Well I think some of the obvious answers are; some of us don’t believe some of the miracles and amazing events that occurred in the Bible can happen today, we also do not realize the power of the Holy Spirit and that we have access to it, and we also have so many distractions over here (social media, entertainment, technology, etc) that can sometimes get in the way of developing a deeper intimacy or even have a greater need for God.

However, I think one big one is the division that we have over here, if it’s not denomination, then it’s race, or both, and even more. There are a few church’s that have diverse membership , some that I have had the pleasure of attending. Yet, these divisions can almost make us forget the we are the Body of Christ. We, who have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

With the uprising of racial tensions I witness the division more.  I began to think about our brothers and sisters overseas dealing with persecution in the name of Jesus. Men, women, and children are being killed for gathering in Jesus name and even punished for possessing a Bible. Some church’s are even forced underground, but if you see their desire, passion, and need to serve Jesus, despite all odds, you begin to realize that something huge is missing over here.

So I wonder what will happen when persecution comes to our nation? It appears that it slowly is beginning to occur, as our country is moving more and more away from God. Simply sharing your beliefs leads to misunderstanding. Will the separate church you attend matter? Will it matter what race we are?

Because of this nations history we have a lot of healing to do, and there needs to be an understanding and acceptance of that in the Body of Christ in America, because I believe now and more and more soon we will need to put aside our differences to gather together in His name. I should be able to walk into any Bible believing church that believes in God the Father, Jesus our Lord and Savior, and the Holy Spirit our helper, and feel welcomed.

We must deal with the problems that divide us. The idea of one church being better than the other, the competitiveness, the racial divisions, etc and get back to what really matters, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to those who are in desperate need of hearing it and to help each other in our walk. We also must honestly deal with the problem of racism, which at its root is hate, which is a sin. Also, to be more open to understanding those who may not understand each others hurts and not assume the worst in each other.

I can say I understand why some may attend different church’s, I’m not against that. Certain church’s are simply meant for certain people. However, I believe the Body of Christ should be able to come to each others place of worship to fellowship, pray, and encourage one another in our walk, soon denomination, race, how many people attend your church will not matter. We must look to the Word of God for instruction and understanding and rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance.

With Love & Blessings,

Courtney Long

Into the Wilderness

“Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the Wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. For forty days and forty nights He fasted and became very hungry”- Matthew 4:1-2 (NLT)

I have come into what some call a wilderness season. This is not my first time being lead into a wilderness season, in fact I saw this one coming. As I was entering into the wilderness season I began to dread what would come. I even wanted God to not allow me to go into it because it felt as if I just came out of one. All I could think was how I did not have enough time to enjoy being out of the last wilderness season. Then I began to reflect on the purpose of the wilderness season. While reading Matthew 4 I came across the verses where we see how Jesus was lead into the wilderness. Something I overlooked was the fact The Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness. While in the wilderness He fasted forty days and forty nights and eventually He was tempted by the devil. If you are familiar with the story we see how Jesus was able to overcome the temptations of the devil by using the Word of God. After this we see that Jesus begins His ministry.

There were several things I learned from this verse, the main point being is that the wilderness season is a time of preparation, it is where we go through a process. It is a time where we may be tempted, tested, and refined. It is also a time for us to reflect on our walk, areas we need to grow in, errors or sins we may have committed that we may need to repent for, and that in the end we are being prepared for something greater. Jesus knew that He was going to be tempted in the wilderness and He used His time there wisely by fasting for forty days and forty nights. I am not necessarily saying that you have to fast for forty days and forty nights, but it is definitely a time where you can spend time in the Word with God, develop in intimacy with Him, fast, pray, and be open to the process of being refined.

I noticed that the wilderness season at times could be lonely. I could not run to people who I could usually run to, it was if God was closing doors. I was upset and could not understand why, but it was then that I realized that He wanted my total reliance to be on Him. It was a time to develop my faith and trust in Him and an opportunity for our relationship to grow. It was also a time I could hear from the Holy Spirit. Our relationship with God is personal. When we leave this world no one can stand for us when we stand before Him, so in life it is best that we learn to develop our personal relationship with Him now and in these wildernesse seasons we can come to the realization that it really is just us and God.

My husband and a few friends have been awesome in this season and I am grateful for their words of encouragement, patience, and love. Yet, there were times they could not simply be there and understand what I was going through and even times I felt misunderstood, I believe they were not supposed to be there at times. I know that He sends people to help me along the way, like my help-meet. Our marriage is to help each other grow in Christ, but in the end we stand before God for ourselves and will be accountable to Him for ourselves.

Although the wilderness season has had its ups and downs, I embrace the process because more and more God is fashioning me into the likeness of Jesus and I know that it is also preparing me for my calling and purpose. I ask for your prayers, and my prayers go out to you guys in your journey, the nation, and the world.

With Love and Blessings,

Welcome to the blog of His Royal Heiress Inc! My name is Courtney Long, founder and CEO of His Royal Heiress . I am happy that you have come across this page and hope that you will tune into future posts. I wanted to give a brief introduction to who I am and some information on HRH (His Royal Heiress). His Royal Heiress has been a longtime vision of mine that I believe God has blessed me with. It is a non-profit faith-based organization that seeks to provide guidance, outreach, hope, mentoring, and support to women and youth. My passion for helping women and youth steams from my personal experiences with hardships and how I found grace and redemption in Jesus Christ. His Royal Heiress seeks to not only reach women through Jesus in our local communities, (we are currently located in Charlotte, NC, with plans to extend further) but, we also have a desire to reach women on a global scale by bridging gaps and building a community of women; longing to grow in Christ, helping women to seek out and fulfill their God-given calling & purpose, and to fellowship with other sisters in Christ around the world. Although His Royal Heiress is a Christian organization we seek to reach the hearts of many women across different cultures and backgrounds, while still being salt and light as our Lord teaches us (Matthew 5:13-16)

In life, we all go through hardships some different or similar to others, but each experience unique to the person who experienced it. Well, I have experienced  a lot whether it was through loss, depression, toxic relationships, insecurities, loneliness, and hopelessness. I will probably discuss more of these specific experiences in future posts, but, the point I am making is no one is exempt from pain. No one is exempt from experiencing some kind of hardship no matter what race, culture, or background you may come from. You see, the wonderful thing about Jesus is that He does not judge your background or experiences, He welcomes all who is willing to accept Him and walk with Him and then He does the work, and I can testify that He has done the work in me and is still doing the work in me. Doing the work can be through healing, building up (through inner strength and growth in character), and more.

I do not intend to preach much in this blog, more so, I aspire to share my experiences, past and present, and what I believe the Lord has shared with me and is teaching me. I also hope to share encouragement, hope, inspiration, and at time truth in love to readers.

Our lives, our gifts and what we do with our gifts are our ministries. I consider this to be a part of my ministry, to share what God is more than capable and able to do in my life and in yours as well. So again, thank you for checking out this blog, I hope that you will return.
